The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of a coordinated supply system that operates efficiently and effectively, is fiscally sound, and meets the needs of Dayton Children's. This includes the management, purchase, storage, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and provision of services.
The Director will maintain high levels of customer service while meeting efficiency and fiscal objectives. The Director is administratively responsible for purchasing, central distribution and copy center/mail room.
This position works with peer directors and senior leadership to accomplish organizational objectives and to formulate organizational policy within field of responsibility.
Financial: Develops and maintains a departmental budget(s) based upon fixed and variable costs, consideration of historical trends and forecasted changes in the environment which are in alignment with divisional allocations.
Completes and Executes capital and operational budgets based on agreed upon parameters.
Reports/reviews progress on compliance to operational budgets
Performance/Process Improvement: Designs and supports a total quality environment, which strives to continuously improve processes within assigned areas of responsibility. (Performance/Process Improvement)
Strategic Planning: Analyzes relevant historical data, current trends, and forecasted healthcare trends to develop a departmental strategic plan, which supports the organization's mission and vision.
Leadership: Creates an environment that supports and empowers workforce in assigned areas of responsibility by role modeling and mentoring departmental staff. Selects, orients, motivates, counsels, and evaluates staff
Central Distribution: Develops, implements and manages an effective and efficient distribution program.
Purchasing: Develops, implements and manages and effective and efficient purchasing and contract management program.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
Bachelors Degree (Specializing in Business), 3-4 years experience (Specializing in progressive management and Supply Chain experience), CMRP (Certified Material Resource Professional awarded by AHRMM), skilled and compency in Excel (Data Analytics)
Preferred: Masters Degree (Specializing in Business), 5-7 years experience (Specializing in progressive management and Supply Chain experience), FACHE (Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives)
