Boulder Community Health is seeking a full-time HR Director to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the management of the Human Resources department. The HR Director is responsible for leading and directing human resources services across the organization. This person assures the quality and appropriateness of HR services provided and collaborates with other directors to accomplish overall hospital mission, goals, and objectives.
5-10 years of progressive responsibility in Human Resources Management required.
Human Resources Management experience in the healthcare field strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
Master’s degree in human resources or related field strongly preferred.
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification required.
Knowledge of state and federal employment laws, regulations and human resources practices.
Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to establish effective human relations programs.
Knowledge of various software programs specifically Human Resource Info Systems and Microsoft office products.
Responsible for effective operation of all Human Resources functions.
Demonstrates familiarity with and complies with the organization’s compliance policies.
Assures compliance with hospital Human Resources policies along with state and federal regulations regarding employment practices, pay practices, benefits design and administration.
Demonstrates familiarity with and complies with the organization’s Code of Conduct.
Oversees interaction with state and federal agencies.
Demonstrates a good understanding of the sources, where to access and how to utilize aggregate data in making management decisions (staffing, training, etc.).
Provides wage and salary recommendations that facilitate competitiveness, equity and fairness in pay policies and practices.
Oversees administration of the organization’s unemployment program. Assures timely and accurate responses to unemployment claims.
Oversees FMLA and ADAAA practices, including the interface between HR, Employee Health and organizational leadership to comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Oversees Employee Health function.
Designs and recommends benefit programs that are competitive, meet the needs of the workforce, and are cost effective.
Oversees all human resources policies, making recommendations for changes as appropriate.
Assures human resources policies are communicated and consistently enforced throughout the organization.
Oversees/administers employee engagement surveys; recommends and implements plans of action to address results in conjunction with organization leadership.
Acts as resource/counsel to directors and employees in personnel and employee relations matters.
Has an excellent working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems including interfacing with payroll systems and generating management reports.
Works with Clinical Education Manager in developing leadership training and new employee orientation programs.
Co-chairs Engagement Committee and HR Advisory Committee.
Oversees and supports hospital-wide employee recognition programs, including professional recognition programs GEM, Encore! cards and employee service recognition programs and events.
Oversees organization’s conflict resolution program, facilitating conflict resolution both inter- and intra-departmentally.
Responds to Human Resources related requests for information from State and Federal agencies and law offices as appropriate.
Produces HR management reports as requested by leadership.
Oversees all HR vendor relationships.
Counsels staff according to Just Culture philosophy and established standards of performance and policies and documents same.
Oversees the corrective action process and assures it is administered fairly and consistently utilizing the Just Culture philosophy as appropriate.
Completes mandatory safety, infection prevention and emergency preparedness training as required by hospital policy.
Demonstrates an understanding of age specific considerations with regard to his/her interaction with patients and customers of different age groups.
Responsible for orienting all new staff to the department.
Assures integration of the Human Resources Department into the organization's primary functions.
Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental services.
Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of Human Resources services.
Determines the qualifications and competence of department personnel by establishing and maintaining standards of performance.
Evaluates departmental personnel on established standards of performance.
Continuously assesses and improves the performance of services provided by the Human Resources Department.
Recommends space and resources needed for services not provided by the department, participating in the selection of those resources.
Establishes, implements and monitors all aspects of the departmental budget to include maintaining productivity based on the appropriate unit of service, staffing, supplies, equipment, purchased services, and capital improvements.
Coordinates the development and review of departmental systems, policies and procedures.
Supports and ensures compliance with all hospital, division and departmental policies and procedures as appropriate. Makes recommendations for changes as appropriate.
Participates in department, division and hospital committees/projects as needed, including the Compliance Committee, Policy Committee and Joint Commission Chapter Chair Committee.
Assists in the acquisition of new clinics from a human resources perspective, assuring a smooth transition for new clinic staff.
Works with all departments to assure compliance with Joint Commission Human Resource standards and other human resources related regulatory requirements.
Actively participates in hospital and departmental LEAN events.
Develops and maintains effective professional relationships with executive leadership, directors, managers, supervisors and employees.
Identifies and meets staff educational needs. Provides in-service training and continuing education for all persons in the department.
Identifies and meets own educational needs, including keeping current on employment, compensation and benefits, laws and other human resource related legislative developments.
Assures new managers in the organization are oriented to Human Resource processes and procedures.
Maintains effective internal and external communications, modeling professional communication and behavior for the organization.
Conducts monthly staff meetings and daily huddles.
Participates in other departmental and organizational meetings and huddles as necessary to carry out and communicate Human Resources functions and strategies.
Evaluates quality of services based upon established standards and problem solves as appropriate. Conducts periodic customer service surveys.
Assures department and organization are compliant with Human Resources Joint Commission standards and other regulatory requirements.
Assures Human Resources staff are actively involved in hospital service quality improvement/LEAN activities.
Recommends strategies to executive leadership related to attracting and retaining a high functioning workforce and other human resource-related strategies.
Oversees implementation of human resources strategic goals in collaboration with other leaders.
Develops annual department goals and objectives to support hospital strategic goals, directing department toward goal attainment. Evaluates and reports on progress toward meeting goals.
Promotes services internally and externally in conjunction with hospital marketing function, as appropriate.
