Under the direction of the HR Processing Manager, the Sr. Benefit Processor will ensure employee benefits for Vanderbilt University Medical Center are accurately applied to employee's records.
Key Functions and Expected Performances:
Process employee benefit/ deduction data, including file uploads, to ensure critical deadlines are met with minimal guidance. Maintain al forms with appropriate authorization required. Ensure employee information is accurate.
Understand and monitor IRS limits for Retirement Savings Plans.
Work with vendors to ensure employee benefit deductions are accurate. Process various file integrations with vendors.
Identify and confirm employee's Loss of Coverage.
Audit employee payroll deductions for accuracy. Prepare deduction reports for reconciliation.
Educate customers on processes related to job functions. Respond to emails from group mailboxes.
Work closely with Benefits Administration and Payroll team members to research, analyze and resolve cross functional issues.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members or employees.
Administer processes and questions related to company PTO plan.
Assist with process documentation and various process improvement initiatives.
Learn, understand and adhere to multi-state regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and co-workers to promote quality customer service to include resolution of payroll transactions
Opportunity to assist in other areas including Payroll Processing and International Tax
Perform other duties / special projects as assigned.
2 years' experience in Employee benefit processing
Professional demeanor and have strong customer service and communication skills.
Must be strong goal oriented, self-motivated, and an independent hands-on worker. Able to handle large volume work in a fast-paced, team environment and under pressure of deadlines.
Strong Organization skills and high level of attention to detail accuracy.
Positive Attitude and Team Player, be mature, responsible and dependable.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to create and analyze data using intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Must have the ability to effectively meet customer needs, taking responsibility for customer satisfaction.
Ability to follow established procedures furnished in written and oral form in a timely and accurate manner and offer suggestions for improvement.
PeopleSoft HRMS Payroll experience a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word. Ability to create and analyze data using intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
