Job Summary: This position is in the Institute for Medicine and Public Health administrative team, which provides support to multiple academic departments, centers and institutes. Our administrative team is part of an innovative plan to effectively provide outstanding support to our faculty and the institution. We have an opening for a dynamic Grants Manager with expertise in research administration.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Assist faculty in preparing and assembling grants proposals/contracts in compliance with sponsor, University, and federal guidelines and deadlines. a. Assist PI in determining requirements, deadlines and time management for responses to PAs/RFAs or general application submission in a proactive manner. Coordinate multiple applications under absolute deadlines. b. Work in a collaborative manner with the Principal Investigator and the Office of Research, throughout the application process to achieve a professional document for submission.
2. Interact with other departments and agencies to facilitate the development, submission, and administration of grant proposals. a. Work in a collaborative manner with the Principal Investigator and the Office of Research, throughout the application process to achieve a professional document for submission. b. Responsible for tracking and receiving confirmation of submitted application from Grants and Contracts sponsor. c. Provide outside departments with biosketches, other support and ancillary data as requested. d. Responsible for processing progress reports to Grants and Contracts for review and final submission via Coeus and/or paper. e. Responsible for completing JIT packages for review and approval.
3. Serve as a resource to investigators. a. Keep abreast of new/updated agency policies, procedures, deadlines and timeframes of new initiatives. b. Assist in identifying potential funding opportunities and forward as appropriate c. Attend training offered by the Office of Research and read relevant online/published materials
4. Assist with researching, analyzing, preparing, and reconciling data for grants budgets in compliance with sponsor, University, and federal guidelines and deadlines. a. Partner with other departments to resolve budgetary issues b. Prepare various forms, contracts and requisitions. c. Responsible for both pre- and post- award activities.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience.
Familiarity with pre- and post-award activities is essential.
The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while remaining helpful and courteous, be extremely organized, efficient and detail oriented and be a team player and self-starter. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates will have solid computer skills and facility with various office technology and software.
