Processes, maintains and reports trauma-related health information data for research, quality assurance and facility planning and marketing. Abstracts and codes trauma-related clinical data using appropriate classification systems. Obtains long-term follow-up data and analyzes institutional standards.
Provides clerical, statistical and informational support to the Trauma Service. Other duties include abstracting charts and performing QA on patient information with diagnosis of trauma. Maintains a database to allow for easy retrieval of trauma statistics.
High School diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of experience in healthcare or related field
Vocational training is preferred
Must have 3 years of expereince with a Level 1, Level 2 or like Emergency department.
