The Access Service Coordinator is responsible for maintaining daily access services operations across the Baylor Scott & White Healthcare System. The Access Service Coordinator is responsible for leading staff members during each shift, supporting staff training, maintaining quality and managing work volumes.
The Access Service Coordinator Position incorporates performing daily financial services activities as well as in monitoring day-to-day operations. The Access Service Coordinator allocates and manages staff work functions in relation to work volumes. The Access Service Coordinator delivers feedback to staff on performance and quality standards. The Access Service Coordinator performs pre-registration, point of service collections, insurance verification, workflow monitoring, and data collection/analysis. The Access Service Coordinator assists Department Manager and/or Supervisor with project development and implementation. The Access Service Coordinator assists Department Manager and/or Supervisor with in-service education related to various departmental functions as well as related computer systems. The Access Service Coordinator assists the Department Training Coordinator and/or Auditor in monitoring registration accuracy and quality compliance. The Access Service Coordinator initiates recommendations regarding process and/or efficiency improvements.
The Access Service Coordinator maintains effective communication with internal and external customers, via verbal, written, and computer skills. The Access Service Coordinator attends department related seminars and provides new/updated information to all staff. The Access Service Coordinator interacts as a team member representing Patient Access Services, and serves as a member of designated committees and attends appropriate meetings as directed.
The ideal candidate for the Access Service Coordinator will possess proficient typing and keyboarding skills, basic computer skills, and Microsoft office. The ideal candidate for the Access Service Coordinator will also be able to work independently and be a self –starter.
