Relocation/Recruitment Incentives are NOT authorized. The Registered Nurse will be providing ongoing support for the facility's various COVID-19 Ancillary services. The RN possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting. This broad-based clinical knowledge enables the RN to effectively implement health promotion and prevention interventions, utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice to perform nursing functions related to coordination of patient care utilizing patient centered practices, and a focus on excellence in nursing care and customer service. The COVID-19 RN would support the various ancillary services provided by the Tomah VAMC. This may include administering COVID-19 Vaccines, swabbing for COVID-19 and supporting other COVID-19 related efforts. The following duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following: Screens all recipient's pre-vaccine for potential concerns as identified by facility guidelines. Educates recipient and administers vaccine as indicated. Documents vaccine administration using appropriate medical record system. Monitors pre and post vaccination for potential side effects and refers for additional assessment/care as indicated. Collaborates effectively with all disciplines and levels of care regarding patient care. Compliance with various Isolation Precautions and Infection Control Guidelines. Skills in time management, priority setting, assessment and urgent intervention. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Work Schedule: Varied Hours Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
