Provides services to Geisinger through the operations and maintenance of printing and reprographics equipment. This includes but is not limited to: printing, paper cutting, drilling, padding, packaging, machine adjustments for set-up on folders and inserter; operates folders, inserter and scanner/sorter and other finishing and bulk mail processing equipment.
Prints a variety of forms, posters, and publications for Geisinger.
Accountable for quality, accuracy and deadlines.
Operates all reprographics equipment including high volume copier and duplicators, offset printing presses, copy machines, paper cutter, paper drill, paper jogger, pad-making equipment, folder, and other peripheral graphic arts equipment.
Performs finishing functions on printed materials as specified on the request for services to include cutting, drilling, padding, packaging and shipping by date needed.
Packs and labels printed materials for distribution; lists items on a daily delivery log; assures log is signed and dated by courier.
Maintains listing of completed business card, appointment cards, and prescription pads.
Operates folders, inserter, scanner and labeler when necessary to assure timely completion of printing requests and meet bulk mail processing deadlines.
Processes all bulk mail including appointment notices, billing statements, payroll, all various other HIPPA sensitive patient information, and other dated materials for the Geisinger within established timeframes using folders, inserter and scanner and sorter equipment.
Operates folder to perform finish functions on printed material and process bulk mail; operates inserter equipment to process bulk mail.
These operations may include set-up adjustments and operational maintenance.
Operates the mail scanner and sorter to sort bulk mail in compliance with United States Postal Service regulations in order to obtain first class mail pre-sort rate discounts offered to Geisinger by the USPS.
Adheres to USPS regulations governing mailing class costs; remains current on changes in regulations; and efficiently processes mail volumes in accordance with USPS regulations to assure maximum postage economies.
Maintains a running log of work processed, quantities, methods and materials used for each job; analyzes workloads and completes each job according to the DPMC departmental scheduling system.
Maintains all machinery and equipment in good operating condition using prescribed specifications.
Monitors supplies inventory; requisitions supplies as needed.
Makes additional printing plates for offset presses as required.
Maintains printing plate filing system in organized manner for sheet-fed presses.
Performs routine daily housekeeping tasks as necessary.
Assists in receiving raw paper stocks and other pertinent material required by the graphic arts trade.
Keeps management and supervision informed of all changes in production operations as they occur.
