Sr. Enterprise Cloud Architect
The Sr. Enterprise Cloud Architect is responsible for the overall design and maturity of cloud services to support next-generation Duke Health clinical, research, and business applications. This includes the configuration, optimization, integration, and maintenance of hybrid multi-cloud components in order to provide a seamless DevOps platform experience. The Sr. Enterprise Cloud Architect works with internal resources and vendors to help implement self-service platform services, and with development teams to ensure successful deployment applications and development pipelines.
Required Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Current certification(s) for Microsoft Azure with an understanding of both AWS & GCP
3 to 5+ years of experience
Required Skills and Experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability and desire to learn new technologies and develop new skills
Experience designing, implementing, and operating resilient, enterprise-scale, multi-tenant platforms and services
Experience building and supporting core cloud infrastructure (multi-cloud experience preferred), such as containers, virtual machines, databases, networking, security monitoring and administration
Demonstrated understanding of available cloud platform services and technologies, their cost structures, and architectures that promote integration and security
Deep understanding of HIPAA, NIST and FISMA regulations and frameworks
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem solving skills
Proven ability to analyze customer requirements and translate into effective solutions
Experience with High Performance Compute (HPC) services
Experience with Blob Storage and Data Lakes
Experience with container-based and orchestrated deployments (docker, Kubernetes)
Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment and Agile backlog management
Experience automating tasks using Ansible, python, and PowerShell
Experience developing standards partnering with Engineering, application developers and administrators, and other stakeholders to select appropriate technical solutions
Experience working in compliance environments preferred
Design, configure, integrate, and maintain hybrid multi-cloud components to provide a seamless platform service experience for Duke clinical, research, and business application developers and administrators
Design, build, manage and operate Duke's cloud platforms with a focus on automation and infrastructure as code
Build and develop new products and services to provide functions
