This pharmacist serves primarily as the ADPAC (Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator) for the Pharmacy service. The incumbent assists with database management as well as upgrading functionality of the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) as it relates to medication management. Duties also include assistance with maintenance of dispensing automation and associated hardware to maintain functionality and tracking of all components of that automation for accountability purposes. Duties to include, but not limited to: ADPAC Responsibilities Serves as the Pharmacy ADPAC Instructs Pharmacy Service and at times Medical Center Personnel in the use of core applications, database, software, and hardware Responsible for Audio Renewal clinic setup and maintenance including daily review of renewal requests and processing fall-outs Assists with the maintenance of automated and robotic dispensing equipment Maintains proficiency with CPRS, personal computer applications, Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) and electronic claims processing. Manages computer menu access and security key allocation Provides data on Controlled Substance dispensing and drug accountability Obtains access and verify codes for all pharmacy personnel and students Manages the local drug file Dispensing Responsibilities The incumbent is expected to maintain their pharmacy dispensing and clinical skills The incumbent may infrequently be assigned inpatient and/or outpatient dispensing duties Provide continuity of medication therapy by refills or partial prescription fills Provides prescriptions for medical supplies when necessary Ensures adequate supplies of medication are dispensed to prevent disruption of therapy Administrative Skills Will monitor and track data and other issues as requested by the Associate Chief of Pharmacy as related to quality and timeliness of clinical and dispensing services at this Medical Center Will generate reports as requested in an accurate, timely and complete manner. Participates in meetings, conferences and programs, that provide exposure and insight into the Medical Center, Management Information Systems, and Pharmacy Service Participates in the residency program, as well as student clinical clerkships, externships, etc., as requested Is the primary person responsibility for assuring appropriate contacts have been made to maintain functionality of dispensing automation and associated software, assist service repair as required, and maintain a tracking record of all hardware and software of the automation and components listed Pharmacy Equipment Inventory Listing Informatics Responsibilities Monitor and verify all non-Controlled Substance invoices through the Drug Accountability program Pulls and reviews monthly prescription cost compilation Responsible for updating and maintaining accurate up-to-date information and costs for all drugs in drug file including reviewing high cost drug reports and initiating monthly cost recalculations Adding new drugs into local drug file from National Drug File as requested and maintaining formulary updates for reflect the national PBM changes Creating and maintaining Prior Approval drug request consults templates for criteria for use Prepares the Pharmacy for the conversion from CPRS to CERNER electronic medical records Oversees the e-pharmacy setup, prescription processing and reject handling Generates pharmacy reporting using Fileman, ProClarity, SQL, Pandora and various canned VISTA options Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, day shift Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
