Fairview Health Services is looking for a Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) in our Labor and Delivery/Post-Partum/Labor and Delivery OR units at Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, just 20 minutes south of Minneapolis, MN near the 35E and 35 W conjunctions. The hospital has been providing state-of-the art care and community services to the residents of the scenic Minnesota Valley since 1984.
Fairview Ridges Birthplace (located in Burnsville, MN) is a 30 bed postpartum and 9 bed labor and delivery unit with a 3 bed maternal assessment center and over 2400 deliveries per year. The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) is responsible for assisting the Manager and Director with the daily operations in the Birthplace at Fairview Ridges Hospital.
This is a 0.8 FTE position, primarily scheduled business hours with rotating evening shift coverage in addition to night & weekend call rotation.
Supervising the staff, including but not limited to hiring, discipline and performance evaluations.
Responsibility for projects as delegated including a focus on meeting the needs of our customers, collaboration with nursing and physician leadership to implement and evaluate standards of practice, and utilization of process improvement methodologies toassure safe and quality patient care.
Assisting with staff education as needed.
Being a role model for patient care and customer service, working closely with our physician partners.
Supporting orientation of new employees to role, department and organization.
Assisting with development and completion of annual staff competencies, monitoring compliance and takes action for non-compliance.
Supporting staff development and learning opportunities to meet identified needs.
Maintaining appropriate staffing by adjusting volumes to meet the needs.
Monitoring and prioritizing assignments to assure timely, productive, and efficient use of resources.
Collaborating with Nursing and Provider leadership to implement and evaluate standards of practice
Bachelors Degree in Nursing, If bachelors is not in nursing then must have a masters degree in nursing
