This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more This Staff Psychologist position is assigned to the Home Based Primary Care (HBPC), Community Living Center (CLC), located at the Durham VA Health Care System (VAHCS) in Durham, North Carolina. The incumbent's responsibilities are focused on conducting assessment and psychotherapy to patients, who are primarily older, who have highly complex medical, mental health, and psychosocial needs. Design/ implement effective treatment strategies with incorporation of new clinical procedures. Provide psychotherapy in individual, group, family and couple modalities. Provide screening assessments and psychological diagnostic evaluations. Provides behavioral medicine interventions to manage pain, disability, sleep problems, weight loss, tobacco cessation, and enhance medical compliance. Perform patient capacity assessments pertaining to decision making ability.
