DescriptionThis position will lead data governance and health informatics initiatives within the Fetal Care Center in order to transform data into knowledge that improves maternal and infant health. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets from electronic health records across multiple institutions to locate influences. Develops recommendations and strategic / tactical plans based upon identified goals and objectives. Works with clinical and research units to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on identified needs and available data elements from multiple sources of electronic health and research records. Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence health informatics tools by defining data to filter and index that add value to the Fetal Care Center and Perinatal Institute. Develops business cases to support the Fetal Care Center's health informatics strategic business plan.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To lead data management, governance, integrity, and data harmonization initiatives for the Fetal Care Center. To analyze; design; implement and maintain health informatics solutions (Business Objects; Epic; SAS; REDCap). To provide general support; troubleshooting; issue identification; potential resolution; project improvements.

Works with business and / or clinical units to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required / available data elements. Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index that add value to the user. Develops business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???User requirements
Gather, prepare and analyze user requirements to design, build and lead others in building complex and comprehensive Business Intelligence solutions utilizing enterprise data systems (such as Epic Slicer Dicer, Caboodle & Clarity, SAP/Crystal, Business Objects, etc.). Set coding standards and lead code reviews. Lead change management when reporting system modifications are needed. Lead in the development of build, configuration and release management processes and meet user and technical documentation standards as set by CCHMC. Utilize and contribute to the CCHMC information glossary to refer to governed definitions when analyzing and creating reports. Understand fully our enterprise data strategy and contribute to the ongoing strategy development and execution.

Oversee end-user training, adoption and education strategies. Mentor team on technical and professional skills. Potentially provide direct supervision of Data Coordinator(s), Associates, Analysts and/or Senior analysts.
???Technical skill
Continually develop professional skills and lead the development of others. Maintain Epic certifications where appropriate, including obtaining additional certifications in other modules. Expand oral and written communication skills, particularly related to translating customer requirements into BI solutions and contribute to long-term system planning. Oversee the planning and execution of testing plans.

Timely completion of personally assigned tasks and assist with the execution of the tasks of others. Balance multiple project and support requirements for self and team.
???Analysis
Analyze strategic Business Intelligence requests to align with existing tools and processes, as well as develop roadmaps for new capabilities as needed. Assist others in solving escalated issues. Oversee the development of support plans for new solutions. Escalate unresolved issues with urgency. Seek the appropriate resources needed for activities with multiple tasks. Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal and external parties on assigned tasks and related issues. Be personally accountable for commitments to projects, and ensure the accountability of others.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:???Bachelor's degree in a related field
???7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred:???3-5 years in health data management or electronic health record applications (EPIC or similiar)
???System design and system architecture experience
???Project management expereince
Unique Skills:???EPIC Clarity certification or will obtain
