The community you’ll be caring for: Adult Speech Therapy Patients in our Heart of Florida and Lakes Wales Clinics

The role you’ll contribute:
When you join our team of over 40 Outpatient Clinics across Central Florida, you will be part of a winning team of experts dedicated to whole-person care to help our patients heal, strengthen and renew. We serve patients Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Volusia, Flagler and Lake Counties with a dedicated Team of therapists, clinicians and staff willing to carry on AdventHealth’s mission in the communities we serve.
You will evaluate and conduct medically indicated Speech Language pathology treatment programs for Adult patients in our Heart of Florida and Lake Wales clinics.

- Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform speech language, cognitive and swallowing skills
- Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes speech therapy diagnosis, implements and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency). Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines
- Engages in promoting evidence-based standards of care and lifelong learning through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/CI, and/or clinical practice education within a peer group
- Documents and Charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department /hospital policy and procedures
- Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis. Documents education with understanding as appropriate
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Florida license as a Speech and Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Compliance from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (CCC-SLP)
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience or clinical rotations in a outpatient setting treating adult patients
