Summary: Assists the Director/Manager in the technical operations by ensuring proper day to day operations with the Operators, Attendants and Valets. Serves as a resource for team members. Primary duties include operating switchboard, guest relations function, compliance with policies/procedures, problem solving, teaching/training and communication.
Other information:
Two years customer service experience in the medical field. Two years experience as a switchboard operator. Computer experience with speed and accuracy required.
High school diploma or equivalency required.
Responsibilities: Operates switchboard: answers and relays long distance, local and interdepartmental calls by making telephone connections using the UA5200 client. Has a professional voice and demeanor at all times. Uses other computer applications (such as Invision, etc.) to insure patients are directed properly. Performs Receptionists/Greeter functions including but not limited to: assisting patients and guests with accurate directions and information which sometimes includes physically walking them to their destinations, assisting vendors with their destinations, delivering flowers and cards according to policies & procedures, transporting patients in wheelchairs to their destination. Performs screening function- takes temperatures and asks screening questions. Provides a mask for anyone who enters without one. Advises destination department of any patient who fails to pass screening questions or temperature check per protocol and responds accordingly. Advises any team member who fails to pass screening questions or temperature check recommended next steps per protocol. Advises any visitor who fails to pass screening questions or temperature check per protocol. Productivity and First Impressions: Realizes this position is the entry way into BMC. Voice, appearance, and behavior must support excellent customer service at all times. Is seen as a resource to patients and visitors at all times. Assists with customer complaints when manager is not present. Assists manager with database maintenance by adding/updating/deleting team members information into switchboard when manager is not present. Makes corrections to the informational entries in the switchboard as needed to ensure accurate information is provided. Primary coordinator of conference call assignments. Maintains an adequate stock of supplies, including thermometers and other items necessary for performing screenings. Handles scheduling needs when manager is not present. Other duties assigned to assist in departmental needs.
