Your role
Utilizes the computerized diet office application to guide and input patient menu selections to comply with the prescribed diet order.
Follows approved scripting during menu ordering and delivery. Utilizes bedside menu entry to record patient menu selections.
Assembles trays per therapeutic diet guidelines and the established presentation standards. Ensures all patient food deliveries and retrievals are consistent with established timeframes, per department standard; checks trays for accuracy before delivery to patient. May assist with food prep and assembly as needed.
Builds and maintains positive relationships between Nursing and the Nutritional Services Department. Maintains a positive, friendly, and courteous demeanor.
Provides quality and professional customer service.
Ensures compliance in that work area/station is clean/orderly, and neat/well organized; wears hairnet / beard cover in production/prep areas and maintains hand hygiene standards. Understands and complies with HACCP, FDA Food Code, and in-house safety and sanitation guidelines.
Handles inventory, supplies and equipment properly and acts to reduce waste. May be responsible for the iPad and other electronic resources.
Participates in department PI projects. Collects data, provides feedback for processes and areas in need of improvement, and implements recommendations.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
Ability to communicate with customers, in person and over the phone, professionally and efficiently
Ability to handle customer interactions in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
Ability to use common software applications and hardware (e.g., iPad, ToughBook)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
·Knowledge of therapeutic diets
·Ability to effectively multi-task
·Bilingual English/Spanish
·Knowledge of Nutritional Services software
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
