Your role
- Utilizes the computerized diet office application to guide and input patient menu selections to comply with the prescribed diet order.
- Follows approved scripting during menu ordering and delivery. Utilizes bedside menu entry to record patient menu selections.
- Assembles trays per therapeutic diet guidelines and the established presentation standards. Ensures all patient food deliveries and retrievals are consistent with established timeframes, per department standard; checks trays for accuracy before delivery to patient. May assist with food prep and assembly as needed.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships between Nursing and the Nutritional Services Department. Maintains a positive, friendly, and courteous demeanor.
- Provides quality and professional customer service.
- Ensures compliance in that work area/station is clean/orderly, and neat/well organized; wears hairnet / beard cover in production/prep areas and maintains hand hygiene standards. Understands and complies with HACCP, FDA Food Code, and in-house safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Handles inventory, supplies and equipment properly and acts to reduce waste. May be responsible for the iPad and other electronic resources.
- Participates in department PI projects. Collects data, provides feedback for processes and areas in need of improvement, and implements recommendations.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Ability to communicate with customers, in person and over the phone, professionally and efficiently
- Ability to handle customer interactions in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner
- Ability to use common software applications and hardware (e.g., iPad, ToughBook)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
· Knowledge of therapeutic diets
· Ability to effectively multi-task
· Bilingual English/Spanish
· Knowledge of Nutritional Services software
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
