The Operational Improvement Intern will be exposed to collaborative and interdepartmental work aimed at engaging in the planning and implementation of improvement methodologies throughout Benefis Health System with the intent of assisting the organization in achieving its strategic priorities. As such, this position will support Operational Improvement Engineers in data aggregation, data analysis, and the deployment of the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Anaylize, Improve, Control) framework. Additionally, this position will support efforts around planning and coordinating solution design, defining and documenting project milestones, and outlining schedules for completion. As an integral part of the Operational Improvement Team, the Operational Improvement Intern will learn to place strong emphasis on the following outcomes: achievement of long-term clinical and organizational quality outcomes, continued cost reduction, enhanced revenue capture, lead time reduction, strategic business growth, aggressive development and dissemination of best practices, and systemic elimination of waste.
