The Memphis VA Medical Center has an immediate need for a Plastic Surgeon that comes with a dual appointment to the University of Tennessee as an academic affiliate.
The medical center consists of one main campus, which includes a sixty-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit, a Women’s Health clinic, and ten Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). It is a tertiary care facility classified as a Clinical Referral Level 1 Facility and one of the most complex medical centers in the VA healthcare system. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology, as well as extensive education and research programs. Comprehensive primary, secondary, and tertiary health care is provided in areas of primary care, general cardiovascular, neurological surgery, psychiatry, pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, neurology, oncology, rheumatology, geriatrics, optometry, and dentistry. Services are available to more than 200,000 veterans living in a fifty-three-county, tri-state area (Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi).
Must possess sufficient clinical knowledge and experience to provide competent clinical and institutional standards of care.
Special knowledge and skill in the design and surgery of grafts, flaps, free tissue transfer, and replantation, to include the treatment of acute burns if necessary.
Provides consultative services for the Surgery Department
Participates in ongoing educational activities for the medical center
Contributes to compliance for performance measures and standards for accreditation
Requirements:
Board Eligible/Board Certified in Plastic Surgery
Full and unrestricted license from ANY US State or territory
Current BLS/CPR certification
Be proficient in the written and spoken English language
US Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens
Highlights of this position include:
Experience Based Salary $300,000-$350,000 (Negotiable)
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8AM-4:30PM
